Paid Placement Inspector

Check if a backlink is live

After a guest post, niche edit, or marketplace order, paste the page and the destination. You get an evidence pack from the HTML and headers we fetch right now — not from a search index. Use it to verify a guest post backlink and see whether it is dofollow.

We fetch the URL you asked us to inspect, then stop. Timeouts and size caps apply. No account required. Checks are rate-limited by IP.

How to read the report

  • Pass / warn / fail are about the fetched HTML, not about Google, Bing, or any commercial link index.
  • Exact href means the resolved href equals the target URL you pasted. Same-host normalized means the host and path match after ignoring www, a trailing slash, and http vs https.
  • dofollow is reported only when the matching link has no nofollow, sponsored, or ugc tokens. noopener and noreferrer do not change that.
  • Indexability combines meta robots, X-Robots-Tag, canonical, and robots.txt for that path. A live link can still be noindexed.

How to read rel="sponsored"

rel="sponsored" is the honest marker for a paid placement. nofollow and ugc are also hints that the publisher is not presenting the link as editorial endorsement. If you paid for a “dofollow guest post” and this tool reports sponsored or nofollow, the link can still be live — it is just disclosed.

SEO Outbid listings use rel="sponsored nofollow" because a bid buys visibility on this board, not search rankings or followed backlinks. See the rules and about pages for that distinction.

Disclosed discovery, not fake equity

If you want a public, paid placement that is labeled as advertising, bid on the SEO Outbid leaderboard. Rank there is the cumulative bid. It is not an undisclosed backlink and it is not a ranking factor you can buy from a search engine.

What this tool fetches

This is a user-initiated check. We request the page URL you submitted (following a short redirect chain), read a size-capped HTML body, and request robots.txt from that origin. We do not crawl the web in the background, execute JavaScript, or query a link index. Do not submit private, authenticated, or non-public URLs.

If the page is a JavaScript app shell

If the publisher’s page is a client-rendered app, the backlink may exist in the browser after JavaScript runs and still be absent from the raw HTML this tool fetches. Crawlers that do not execute JavaScript can miss that link too. This inspector does not render the page.
